1. Get an NFT wallet
Get a digital wallet to hold NFT collectibles.
We recommend either:
1) Ledger‘s hardware wallets, or
2) MetaMask free app on a computer browser or on a mobile phone
If you choose Ledger, go to their product website and order either a Nano X (comes with Bluetooth), or a Nano-S-Plus (USB only).
MetaMask is one of the most popular digital wallet apps for NFTs, and it’s free to download either on a supported web broswer (Chrome / Firefox / Brave / Edge) or iPhone / Android.
2. Set up the wallet
Made your choice between Ledger or MetaMask? Good.
Ledger Set-up
- Download the Ledger Live app ( on any PC/Mac/phone platform) and open the app.
- Follow the detailed instructions to set up your Nano device. This will take some time as it involves generating your passphrase and private key.
- Finally, install the Polygon (MATIC) app by opening Ledger Live and navigate to the Manager tab.
- Connect and unlock your Ledger device.
- If asked, allow the manager on your device.
- Search for the Polygon (MATIC) app in the app catalog.
- Click the Install button to install the app on your Ledger device.
MetaMask Set-up
- Open the app in your browser by clicking on the fox icon, or open the app on your phone.
- Choose to create a new wallet and note down your Secret Recovery Phrase.
- We need to manually add the Polygon network to MetaMask. Click on “Ethereum Mainnet” button in your browser; or touch “Wallet” on your phone.
- Select “Add Network“, and fill in the following details:
Network Name: Polygon
New RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com
ChainID: 137
Symbol: MATIC
Block Explorer URL: https://polygonscan.com
3. Download Discord
Discord is a very popular and capable free instant video/audio messaging app. Download for PC / Mac here or get it for mobile on the Apple App Store / Google Play Store.
Set up a user account and join our Frederiksdal Discord server here, or by clicking on the plus icon ⊕ (swipe right on mobile to reveal the server list), then selecting “Join a Server”, and type in https://discord.gg/kTPGAUDbcc.
Copy your wallet address from Ledger or MetaMask into the #Friends-of-Frederiksdal channel.
Get wallet address from Ledger
On Ledger, you can find the address by going to “Accounts”, then “Polygon”, and select the “Receive NFT” button.
Get wallet address from MetaMask
On MetaMask, you can copy the address by clicking or touching the string of numbers and letters (like 0xf44bd…) below the Account name.
Paste that long string of numbers and letters into our Discord channel.
Take a sip of Frederiksdal cherry wine and keep your eyes peeled on our Discord on when we release our NFTs. Then check your digital wallet for the NFT!

What and who is Frederiksdal?
We are Denmark’s only cherry wine maker and probably one of the few in the entire world. And we are talking about wine made from cherries, not alcohol added to cherry juice to become cherry liquor.

What are Frederiksdal Collectibles?
Frederiksdal Collectibles are essentially NFTs. NFT stands for Non-Fungible Token. Think of them as unique digital receipts that cannot be copied or replaced (hence the ‘non-fungible’ part). The digital receipt that you own is listed and recorded on the blockchain – a digital ledger that records and lists all transactions related to cryptocurrency and NFTs.
These digital receipts can have different forms of value and use. For example, our first NFT collection, Friends of Frederiksdal, is like a digital membership card, offering membership benefits such as discounts on our webshop. Future NFT collections by us may have the ability to exchange an NFT for a physical bottle of wine.
What are digital wallets, like Ledger and MetaMask?
Digital wallets hold your NFTs and crytocurrency and tokens. Each wallet has a unique public address in the form of a long string of letters and numbers, that you can use when transferring digital assets. There are hardware wallets and software wallets, and different types of wallets have different features and support for different types of digital assets.
We recommend using Ledger and MetaMask for our NFTs.
Why do you only recommend Ledger and MetaMask for wallets?
Our NFTs are on the Polygon blockchain and follow ERC-1155 specifications. Ledger Live and Ledger hardware wallets are the only ones we have tested to have full compatibility and support for ERC-1155 NFTs. The free wallet, MetaMask, also supports ERC-1155 NFTs, except that you have to set up connecting to the Polygon network manually, and you cannot transfer out the NFT from the app itself. You have to use Opensea.io to connect to your MetaMask wallet to transfer or sell your ERC-1155 NFT.
Other wallets like Coinbase wallet, Trust, and Edge don’t fully support ERC-1155 NFTs.

What is Discord?
Discord is a free app that features robust video and audio calls, as well as text messaging, emoticons, animated gifs and many other features. We use it to announce our NFT drops, as well as other news and promotions.
What are the benefits of owning Frederiksdal NFTs?
Numerous benefits! Some of our NFTs offer discounts or exclusive access to events or experiences, and some can even be exchanged for physical products or tours. You can even sell and trade our NFTs on OpenSea.io.
Why is there an age limit requirement?
Even though Frederiksdal NFTs can be collected and traded by anyone with a digital wallet, hte NFTs are associated with alcohol. Hence we require anyone visiting our website or participating on our Discord server, or trading our NFTs, to be at least 21 years old.

Is Frederiksdal NFT cryptocurrency?
No, it is not a form of money. It is a digital collectible item that may have different benefits or utility based on what we specify. You are welcome to gift, sell and trade our NFTs though.
What type are Frederiksdal NFTs?
Our NFTs are on the Polygon blockchain and follow ERC-1155 specifications, which OpenSea uses.
How do I buy Frederiksdal NFTs?
Our first NFT collection, Friends of Frederiksdal, is free for a very limited time. After that, future NFTs will be put on sale at OpenSea.io.
Buy Ethereum via the Ledger Live app or MetaMask mobile app and link your Ledger or MetaMask wallet to OpenSea.io. Visit our collections page and bid on your favourite Frederiksdal NFT. If you win the bid, the NFT is automatically transferred to your wallet.
How do I sell my Frederiksdal NFT?
With your Ledger or MetaMask wallet connected to OpenSea, navigate to your NFT, click on “Sell”, set a bid price and other parameters. Read OpenSea’s guide for more details.
Some our our NFTs have a commission percentage set for each resale. This is done to compensate the artists we collaborate with for their creative work.
Are there gas fees?
There are no gas fees when we transfer an NFT to you. When you want to transfer your NFT to a different wallet, or redeem your NFT by transferring it back to us, a very small gas fee in Polygon MATIC tokens will be required. It will still be much cheaper than Ethereum gas fees. You can buy MATIC tokens directly in Ledger Live or MetaMask.
